The last WIP I was working on (the last for my 2k a day marathon) is a Thriller, so I thought I'd pick this wonderful genre for my first genre post.
My first thriller is an Adult Psychological Thriller, NOTHING BUT DARKNESS. It's sort of in the vein of AMERICAN PSYCHO. Male POV, creepy, serial killer type stuff :)
And the other thriller I mentioned is another Adult Thriller, and it's about a stalker. Let me tell you, when I write these stories home alone I really freak myself out!
*Writer's Digest has 5 C's of writing a great thriller
*Another Writer's Digest one about 10 ingredients
*Creative Writing Now has some tips
*Gotta love Huffington Post advice
There are TONS more with any google search too :)
NY Magazine has a list of The Best Novels You've Never Read, which has some unknown thrillers
My suggestions: (These may fall under Thriller or horror, to be honest)
*I loved SERIAL by Jack Kilborn, Blake Crouch, and J.A. Konrath - that one is free, but I like the UNCUT one better
* Also by Jack Kilborn and J.A. Konrath: Truck Stop - A Psycho Thriller
*Apparently - my unknown/underrateds are all by the same three people :) Because my last suggestion is: Killers - A Psycho Thriller by Jack Kilborn, Blake Crouch, and J.A. Konrath
And do you have any tips for writing a thriller?
