You may be thinking what does music have to do with writing? But for SO MANY writers music and writing go hand in hand. When I'm writing a new draft I usually start with creating a playlist to set on low as I write. Music is inspiring. It can give a writer ideas, help focus, or keep the motivation going.
For my first post on this bandwagon, it's a playlist of the New Year!
I've been thinking... what music goes into a playlist for a brand new year? Like Katie, I was "voluntold" into this Mix Tape series :) But I may have been more willing of a "voluntoldeer" than her. I do listen to music, a lot. I have about a twenty-five minute drive into, and home from, work every day, and I always listen to music on that drive. I used to prefer a morning show, but I've gotten so sick of them all. I'm WAY too tired, and I'm so NOT a morning person, on the drive in. I just need music and no idiotic chatter.
Clearly I have issues and need coffee before interacting with anyone.
So I thought a good playlist for the New Year be about resolutions. It should include some of my favorites, some inspirations for writing and living and making another year an AWESOME one. But first - a warning - my favorite songs are kind of messed up and may seem a little bit ANIT-Resolution themed... I mean, yeah that's about it. Maybe the pretty graphics will make the weirdness of my playlist a list more upbeat?!
My resolutions from the earlier post were as follows:
- Edit and query another novel this year
- Never stop writing
- Make more writer friends
The Actual Playlist:
Check it to on Grooveshark Wow, that playlist is SO random. It really is. Remind me to be less weird next time...
