First in my six month challenge there was the new WIP (the NA Fantasy LGBT). Now there is the new-new WIP. I think I like the trend, by the end I'll be working on the new-new-new-new one!
I thought about the idea for the new-new one for about a week while I was finishing the last one. It got stuck in my head and just wouldn't leave. I kept texting myself little ideas that pooped up, out of nowhere, to add to the plot.
You know it's a good idea when it won't leave you alone.
Now I'm 40k into the planned 60k I'm hoping for and I'm still loving it! It's angsty and sometimes heartbreaking. The characters are flawed and I absolutely adore them.
Maybe you're wondering what it's about, or maybe you're not. But too bad, so sad, I'd you're not because I'm going to tell you anyway :) I've pinned pictures to Pinterest board for inspiration, so if you follow me there you may already have an idea.
Basically I was inspired by a song and started running with the basic idea of a love triangle. I have two MCs and they are exs. They still talk and try to stay friends, but neither fully got over the other. My make MC has a girlfriend which complicates his torn feelings. A lot of angst ensues and some plot twists, and I can say much more without getting spoily. It's another NA and I'd say it's Contemporary. Angsty contemporary, but that's not a genre. Sometimes I call it the angsty one too.
I'm loving where it's headed, but I get anxious braking my poor characters' hearts, and I fear I may tear up sometime soon.
Dorky I know :)
I'm trying so hard NOT to plan the next one until this one is a day or two from finished. There should be less than two weeks left before I put it up on my manuscripts tab and start the new-new-new one!
Surprisingly I'm actually doing okay with this 2k a day thing. Go figure! I'll be writing this three more times by Halloween:
